 Urinary Tract Infection  Tuesday, September 8, 2009
My poor Dyllis admitted to hospital last night.. her fever came back again yesterday evening.. so brought her to see a GP downstairs.. & the GP suspected that it might be urine infection as Dyllis's fever came & went.. GP gave me a urine bag w/ a test strip.. went home to paste the urine bag around her cervix & waited for her to pee.. & dipped the strip into her pee & the result was - the strip turned colour! =( Meaning its positive! Advised by GP if turned colour got to admit her to hospital immediately..
Headed for A&E at KKH at 11+pm.. registered & made payment via her CDA card.. waited for a doctor to attend to her.. likewise they pasted a urine bag around her cervix to collect a specimen for testing.. however.. Dyllis wasn't as cooperative.. she took a long long time to pee.. on top of that.. she pooed! So the specimen was a bad one as indicated by the doctor.. but with that specimen.. they tested that she indeed contracted urinary tract infection.. was sent up to the ward at 4+am.. on-duty doctor came to check on her & ask us for more info.. took Dyllis for withdrawal of blood & urine specimens for more accurate & further testings.. she was on antibiotics.. not those oral form.. thru a syringe via a tube at her feet.. Dyllis cried for an hour & my heart sank for as long! when she's out from the treatment room.. I saw her feet.. my tears dropped! The tube prinking her feet but prinking my heart! No words can be used to describe my feelings at that moment.. How I wish if I could take over her place to go through the sufferings?!
But Dear Dear tried to cheer me up by saying :"Aiyo.. no more elephant leg lor.. nw its robot leg!" I know he too felt very heart ached.. but to make me smile.. he said something silly! Think he took some photos of Dyllis.. will try to retrieve them & upload in my next post!
