Gist of Drama
The story originates from a brotherhood relationship between Yat Yuen & Yat Ming. Yat Yuen is both the head of the family & the leader of a recognised bank in Hong Kong. He is well-respected by everyone for his decisiveness, clear-headed & reliable personality.
Ever since the appearance of Yat Ming (Sha Fu Lai), the so-called “2nd brother”, the family was turned in total chaos. Sha Fu Lai grows up in Malaysia & his parents passed away since young. Under such circumstances, & to bring up his younger brother, he is being forced to be a con man. Coincidentally, he made use of the role of Yat Ming (who passed away recently) to join the family & bank. In view of this, he is the 2nd master of a rich & respectable family in Hong Kong. Out of sympathy, Yat Yuen starts to compensate him in all ways. Yat Ming has fine personal relationship skills, which help him in gaining others’ trust & favoritism. His initial plan was to leave the family & bank after cheating a lump sum of money.
Yat Ming, as Sha Fu Lai knew Yat Sam beforehand. They had a very short romance in Saba, Malaysia. Upon acknowledgement of Yat Ming as her 2nd brother, she decided to put an end to this relationship. However, Yat Ming has never forgotten Yat Sam, as he’s well aware that they are not real siblings. In this family, Yat Ming experiences long-lost family warmth. In the bank, he enjoys fortune & authority. These temptations made him irrepressible! He is so indulged in fame & fortune. On the other hand, he is so afraid of losing them all. Ultimately, greed, fear & jealousy overwhelmed him! The greed to take over the entire bank & the selfishness to possess Yat Sum changed him from a con man to a devil.
Yat Yuen treats Yat Ming sincerely as a brother. However, after some encounters, he realized that Yat Ming is despicable person. He accepted him & tried to bring him to the right path but to no avail. In the end, he has to stop him to prevent him from further wrongdoings. Yat Ming sows discord among Yat Yuen’s family, relatives & colleagues, so as to get rid of Yat Yuen – this obstacle. Yat Yuen lost both his family & career. On top of this, Yat Yuen is down with an illness, which poses a threat to his life. He, once again, undergoes life tests & managed to overcome them. In view of his family being hurt by Yat Ming, Yat Yuen felt so helpless that he could not do anything to save his family. In the end, Yat Ming came to his senses & decided to repent. However, he is unable to face himself & others, he committed suicide. Labels: TVB
